Calphos N sodium hexa meta phosphate (SHMP), is an additive for many industries to improve and balance the performance. It is used in all high solid content exterior and interior paints as pigment disperserand filler.
In coating industry, Calphos N is used as water softening agent, disperser and flotation agent.
Water softening agent
Applying Calphos N SHMP in coating industry (exterior, interior) helps softening water in applications. By this improvement, pigments and fillers can be dispersed easily and supports flotation as flotation agent.

Unique combination, different solutions
The unique combination of Calphos N SHMP’s ability to sequester water hardness and its infinite solubility in water makes it a product of choice in applications such as laundry boosters, water conditioners and in bath beads.
Calphos N SHMP can be used in continously recycled industrial water as softener and to control scale formation in condensers, heat exchangers, pipelines and boilers. Calphos N SHMP has two particular advantages. First, it maintains polyphosphate properties longer in high temperature systems at mildly alkaline pHs.
Second, its infinite solubility in water allows very concentrated stock solutions to be prepared.
